IBM & Zebulon: Human-Centered Fire Entry

In IBM’s Design for Social Good class at NCSU, I worked with a large team supervised by 4 senior IBM staff members to find a solution for the Town of Zebulon’s emergency fire entry system.

This work involved using IBM’s proprietary UX methodology— Enterprise Design Thinking, meeting with stakeholders, and group ideation with lots of sticky notes. Our team was asked to present playbacks for our research and Hills, culminating in a final presentation at IBM HQ in Raleigh with a panel consisting of the Zebulon Fire Department and other IBM User Researchers and Designers not involved in the project.

Skills:
Enterprise Design Thinking, Qualitative/Quantitative Research, User Journey Maps (As-Is, To-Be Scenario Maps), Paper Prototyping, Systems-Level Design Thinking

Stakeholders:
Zebulon Fire Operations, Zebulon Firefighters, Zebulon Business Owners,
Others (IBM, Knox Box, NC State University, Team A: “Knox Messing Around”)
